After nomination, the candidate will be voted on at the General Assembly in Rio 2018. It should be someone interested in the objectives of the IMU: promoting maths internationally – with special foci on excellence (the prizes, the ICMs), maths education (ICMI), connections with Science (ICSU), developing countries (CDC) and/or new technologies as they affect maths.

And the person must have a sufficient international reputation to hold a realistic chance of being elected.

Nominations close late in October so, to enable the Academy to prepare a nomination, please send suggested names (with the agreement of the person suggested) to Peter Forrester by next Friday, 22nd September.
