Publications
One of the major activities of the Australian Mathematical Society is the dissemination of new mathematics.
We produce the following publications, the:
- ANZIAM Journal
- Lecture Series
- Bulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society
- Gazette of the Australian Mathematical Society
- Journal of the Australian Mathematical Society
- Membership and Administrative Directory of the Mathematical Sciences in Australasia
The ANZIAM Journal publishes articles in any field of Applied Mathematics and related Mathematical sciences, with a particular interest in novel applications of mathematics in real situations. The ANIZAM journal is edited by Professor C.E.M. Pearce, Department of Applied Mathematics at The University of Adelaide. Four issues are published per year and the Journal is available both online and in print. Access to both requires a subscription.
The Australian Mathematical Society Lecture Series is a series of publications which aim to cover all area of mathematics whilst focussing on the needs of Australian University curricula. The Lecture Series is edited by Professor Cheryl E. Praeger, School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Western Australia. Visit the Cambridge University Press web site to view current publications.
The Bulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society aims to provide a concise publication of original research in all branches of mathematics. Two volumes, containing three numbers, are published annually. The Bulletin is edited by Dr A.S. Jones, Department of Mathematics at The University of Queensland.
The Gazette publishes mathematical articles of general interest, reviews, and other information relating to mathematical education. The Gazette is edited by Ms R.G. Thomas of the Millennium Mathematics Project, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, The University of Cambridge, and Dr B. Loch, Department of Mathematics and Computing, The University of Southern Queensland. Five issues are published annually.
The Journal of the Australian Mathematical Society features articles in pure mathematics and mathematical statistics that have not previously been published. The Journal is edited by Professor M.G. Cowling, School of Mathematics, The University of New South Wales. Six issues are published per annum. The Journal is available online and in print. Access to both requires a subscription.
The Membership and Administrative Directory of the Mathematical Sciences in Australasia lists all members of the Society, as well as all mathematicians in university mathematics departments in Australia and New Zealand, and mathematicians working in a number of research units in government and industry. It also contains a wide range of more detailed information about mathematical organisations in Australia. The Directory is sent to all members.
