The Graduate School seeks qualified applicants for an appointment as a Statistical Consultant in the Statistical Consulting Unit (SCU). The SCU promotes the use of appropriate and informed statistical practice by providing support to research students and academic staff of the University through its consulting activities. It also conducts short courses in statistics for researchers. SCU staff members collaborate with research staff in research projects and in formal supervision and advice for research students.

You will be expected to show evidence of a wide knowledge of statistical methodology and experience in the application of statistics to quantitative problems in a range of disciplines, as well as experience in teaching statistics short courses to non–statisticians.

A full time standard appointment is available from 1 September 2001, and a fractional part-time, fixed-term appointment from 18 June to 31 August 2001. You will need to specify when you would be available for appointment.

Upon appointment you will have a base salary of $49,835 - $58,798 pa, plus generous superannuation provisions.
