Data to Decisions Cooperative Research Centre (D2D CRC) is offering a limited number of $30,000 National Security Big Data PhD Scholarships in 2017. The D2D CRC brings together government, industry and research to develop Big Data capability, focusing on the challenges of the defence and national security industry.

We are seeking motivated people to undertake innovative research on complex, real world challenges across a range of areas including predictive analytics, knowledge graph creation, natural language processing, image and video understanding, visualisation and open source data. Our highly respected University partners are located across Australia and include UNSW, UTS, ANU, UniSA and the University of Adelaide.

Benefits of a D2D CRC PhD Scholarship

The D2D CRC is offering different levels of PhD scholarships. The National Security Big Data scholarship provides $30,000 tax free annually for three years, incorporating an allowance for travel, materials and resources. The D2D CRC also offers top-up scholarships of $15,000 per annum. Other benefits of our PhD scholarships include industry/agency placements, networking, an exchange program and development opportunities, including attendance at the D2D CRC Annual Conference.

Eligibility

We are seeking high achievers who have completed a Masters or Honours first class and have a passion for solving the mathematical challenges associated with Big Data. The National Security Big Data PhD scholarships also require that applicants are Australian Citizens as a Security Clearance may be required to participate in placements.
