The University of Western Australia

Perth

Closing date: 17th January, 2014

The Government of Western Australia Department of Health has established a scholarship fund for the purpose of attracting students with a strong desire to develop a career in radiation oncology medical physics. The demand for medical physicists specialising in radiation oncology is growing in Western Australia as the government seeks to expand cancer treatment services in the State. Through the award of the Scholarship in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics, the Department of Health is seeking to encourage suitable applicants to apply for the Master of Physical Science: Medical Physics course in the Faculty of Science to commence a radiation oncology medical physics research project and associated coursework in 2014.

These scholarships of $30,000 per annum for 2 years will be awarded based on academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in medical physics. They are open to all students with an appropriate degree in Physical Science or Engineering who would like to focus their Master of Physical Science: Medical Physics research component on a radiation oncology topic.
