Closing date: 31st October 2013PhD scholarship applications are welcome from suitably qualified graduates in physics, theoretical chemistry or applied mathematics to undertake cutting-edge research in this field, in the group of Professor Billy Todd and Dr. Federico Frascoli at Swinburne University of Technology. Projects currently on offer include computational nanofluidics, molecular rheology, nonequilibrium statistical mechanics and microscopic chaos.

Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Awards offer a non-taxable indexed stipend of $24,653 p.a. and a tuition fee scholarship (total value: around $49k p.a.) for up to three years for doctoral studies, with the possibility of a 6 month extension. Furthermore, students will have access to funds to attend and present their research at local and/or international conferences. Our group has strong ties with local and international researchers and there is the opportunity to travel in Australia and overseas for collaborations.
International students should apply for both an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and a Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Award (SUPRA). Permanent residents of Australia may apply for an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA). Outstanding international and local candidates may also apply for the Swinburne Chancellor¹s Research Scholarship (CRS).
