Research Awards for Areas and Centres of Excellence

Applications are invited for Macquarie University Research Awards for Areas and Centres of Excellence (RAACE) to undertake one of the postgraduate research projects offered in the Division of Information and Communication Sciences (ICS) for PhD students commencing study in 2003.

Areas include:

Area 1
Mathematics, Computing and Information Technology
Number Theory and Cryptography
Category Theory*
Information Systems and Network Security
Human Language Technology (with MU Speech, Hearing and Language Research Centre, Area 9)

This research area includes the Macquarie University Number Theory Research Centre, Macquarie University Category Theory Research Centre, and the ICS Research
Centre for Human Language Technology (Divisional Centre).

RAACE scholarships offer an annual stipend of $17,609 (tax-free) for full-time study and $9,379 pa (taxable) for part-time study.
