Postgraduate Scholarships
Research on Mathematical System and Control Theory

Ph.D. scholarships are available for students with good degrees in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related areas.

Ph.D. projects are funded by the Australian Research Council and the Centre of Excellence in Guidance and Control and will involve carrying out research under supervision of Professor Andrey Savkin in School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, University of New South Wales, Sydney.

Possible research areas include:
Robust and nonlinear control systems; image processing; control of telecommunication networks; application of control and signal processing to medicine and biomedical engineering;
control of mobile autonomous robots; missile guidance.

The value of the scholarships is about $23,000 per annum tax free for three years. In addition, top up scholarships may be available to outstanding applicants up to an additional \$10,000 per annum. Furthermore, top up scholarships are available to APA or OPRS holders up to an additional $14,000 per annum. Also, travel funds will be available to scholarship holders to enable them to attend overseas conferences and visit overseas research laboratories.
