National ICT Australia Limited

National ICT Australia Limited (NICTA) is a new research centre funded by the Commonwealth of Australia and other partners. Its mission is to become a world class research centre in Information and Communications Technology. It has been launched by the contribution of researchers from the Australian national University and University of New South Wales. The research is organised into a number of Programs.

The Statistical Machine Learning and Sensor Signal Processing program is based in Canberra, and has positions available for one Principal Research D and one Senior Principal E, being the equivalent to Associate Professor and Full Professor within Australian Universities.

We are looking for world-class enthusiastic and entrepeneurial researchers to join what will become a large research group in Machine Learning.

Senior level researchers in NICTA are expected to contribute to all aspects of NICTA's mission. They are expected to contribute to all aspects of NICTA's mission. They are expected to supply inspirational research leadership; exercise a leadership role in the wider Australian and international ICT research communities; promote the role of NICTA in international ICT research; lead research projects; coordinate commercialisation opportunities; provide major contributions to publication of research and model innovative research approaches to colleagues.

Remuneration will be internationally competitive, and funds will be available also for research support and infrastructure, and international conference travel support.
