Fellow in Bayesian Inference for Mixture Models

Funded by an ARC
research grant, the primary aim of this research is to develop Bayesian
statistical methodology and computational schemes for mixture problems
including flexible modelling of regression functions, variable selection
and graphical models. A second aim of the project is to apply the techniques
in a number of fields including marketing, finance, and health related
disciplines in conjunction with experts in these fields. Professor Robert
Kohn, Dr Sally Wood (AGSM) and Dr David Nott (Mathematics) who hold
the grant will supervise this position.
FIXED TERM: - Salary:
A$53,714 - A$57,438 per year for a Postdoctoral Fellow and A$60,304
- A$70,050 for a Research Fellow depending on qualifications and experience
(plus up to 17% employer superannuation plus leave loading.) This salary
includes a superable UNSW academic loading of A$3,000 per annum payable
to all academic staff (pro rata for fractional academic staff).
Essential criteria
for appointment for either position/level: a PhD or near completion
in Statistics, Econometrics or a related discipline; demonstrated high
level skills in statistical computing; extensive experience in mathematics;
excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; knowledge
of OHS responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant OHS training;
an understanding of equity and diversity principles.
Additional essential
criteria for appointment as Research Fellow: a record of publication
in international journals.
Desirable criteria
for appointment for either level: a record of publication in international
journals.
Position is full-time
fixed-term for a period of up to three years.
