Research Associate in Brain Dynamics

Applications are
invited for up to two postdoctoral positions in the Brain Dynamics group
of the School of Physics, which has multiple links to neuroscience and
industry, and is headed by Federation Fellow Professor Peter Robinson.
The appointees will
work on quantitative modelling of brain dynamics, and its applications
to data on brain activity and function. The work will involve analytic
and numerical studies, data analysis, and interactions with experimentalists
in a highly interdisciplinary group.
Essential criteria
include a PhD in theoretical or computational physics, applied mathematics,
or related field, experience in mathematical modelling and scientific
programming, strong interest in neuroscience. Desirable: experience
with C, IDL, or Fortran, experience in neuroscience, biological physics,
or closely allied field, experience in an interdisciplinary team.
The positions are
full-time fixed term for two years, subject to completion of a satisfactory
probation period for new appointees. There is the possibility of further
offers of employment for up to two years, subject to funding and need.
Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition
of employment for new appointees.

Remuneration Package:
$61,745 - $66,280 p.a. (which includes a base salary Level A $52,176
- $56,008 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employers contribution
to superannuation).
