The Australian National University
Canberra ACT
Fractional Appointment, Fixed term
The ANU's Integrated
Catchment Assessment and Management (iCAM) Centre and Department of
Mathematics are seeking a joint appointee to lead a research
program in environmental systems modelling. The appointee will be expected
to have an understanding of modelling issues of concern to federal and
state government agencies involved in natural resource management and
be able to generate external income to develop an associated program
of work involving staff and students from across the campus, CSIRO and
the CRC for Catchment Hydrology.
The post requires
substantial research experience in developing novel methods of estimation
for models of dynamic systems, and of applying them to a wide variety
of real systems, preferably including environmental systems with hydrological
aspects. A record of research in methods suitable for strongly time-varying
models would be a particular advantage. A strong network of contacts
in the relevant research communities is expected.
The 50% fractional

of three years. A further term would be subject to funding. The position
offers a salary of $99,949 per annum pro rata plus generous superannuation
provisions.
