Applications are invited for two, research only ARC Research Associate or ARC Senior Research Associate positions for a fixed term period of six months to three
years. The positions will be funded by an ARC Discovery Grant in Variational Problems of Monge-Ampère Type, directed by N S Trudinger and X-J Wang. One
position will support research in geometric variational problems while the other in optimal transportation and related problems. Prospective candidates should have
research training and experience in nonlinear partial differential equations and either differential geometry or calculus of variations.

The positions will be located in the Centre for Mathematics and its Applications which is primarily a research institute in the mathematical sciences.

Appointment will be at academic level A or B, within the salary range of $47,721-$51,066 pa or $53,640-$63,287 pa, plus generous superannuation provisions.
Contributions towards relocation costs will be offered to the successful candidates.
