Ballarat is one

Ballarat is a growing
centre for IT. Ballarat Technology Park is situated on a 29 hectare
site within the campus of the University of Ballarat, and was developed
in conjunction with the City of Ballarat to provide a centre for the
region's burgeoning information technology industry.
The main research
thrusts are in applied optimization, software engineering, distributed
simulation, case-based reasoning, knowledge based systems, data security,
data mining in the domains of law, health and economic modelling, health
informatics, information retrieval, mathematics and statistics education,
topological groups and mathematical finance.
