The Faculty of Science
delivers a range of Bachelor of Science programs: Environmental Science,
Biomedical Science, Microbiology and Biotechnology, Public Health, and
Sport and Exercise Science. The Faculty is also running a joint Nursing
degree with Central Queensland University and developing an Institute
for Sustanability, Health and Regional Engagement (iSHARE). A new research
Centre for Healthy Activities, Sport and Exercise (CHASE) has also been
established.
The University will
be making an appointment as Professor of Biostatistics and is seeking
candidates with a research track record that can attract strong research
funding combined with broad experience in statistical consulting with
a range of industrial, government and community groups. The successful
candidate will also be expected to teach in both undergraduate and postgraduate
courses in research design and analysis.
The Professor of
Biostatistics will lead research programs that form part of the iSHARE
and CHASE, with broad scope for Biostatistics in these research programs,
for both human and environmental biological systems, with possible applications
in epidemiology, biometrics, bioinformatics, geoinformatics and health
informatics.
