The University of Otago invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a Professorship in Finance in the Department of Finance and Quantitative Analysis within the School of Business. The successful candidate will have a distinguished record of research and scholarship and the ability to provide strong academic leadership. Applicants in any specialist area of finance will be considered. The appointee will have a sustained record of achievement that demonstrates commitment to high quality teaching and research, the ability to work co-operatively with staff and students, a successful record in postgraduate supervision, and the ability to promote research activity and attract research funding.

Applications will be considered from people wanting diversity of career options, such as a joint appointment with an existing academic institution. In addition, the successful candidate may be expected to assume the role of Head of Department in due course. The appointee will be expected to take up duties by 1 February 2002, or as soon as possible thereafter.

An individual agreement which includes a competitive salary and conditions will be offered.
