We have an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral fellow in a team of computer scientists and astronomers working on Virtual
Observatories. The challenge on offer is to search terabyte-sized databases for unusual objects. Our initial experimental data
set is the 1.5 Tbyte collected observations from the Australia Telescope Compact Array.

The fellowship will suit a recent PhD keen to take on an open-ended problem. The topic of your PhD is less important than a
capacity to think laterally and to cut into many specialist topics.

A comprehensive 3-year Development Plan will be provided, ensuring that over the period of the Fellowship you will develop
skills, partnerships and networks, which are valued both within CSIRO and industry.
