Applications are invited for a computational mathematician in the Department of Mathematics within the School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS).

The successful candidate will be a member of a team responsible for the development and delivery of undergraduate courses as part of a new undergraduate degree, the Bachelor of Computational Science (http://bcomptlsci.anu.edu.au). This degree is supported by the Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing (APAC) which has a national aim to strengthen the expertise in developing and using advanced computing systems.

Applicants for the position should have undergraduate teaching experience in the area of computational mathematics and/or an appropriate area of the mathematical sciences and have a research profile which enhances the existing activities of the Advanced Computation and Modelling program within the SMS. The successful candidate should have practical experience applying computational and mathematical methods to real world applications and have an interest in the use of advanced computing methods for the study of such applications.

Appointment: The successful applicant will be offered a standard position in the Mathematics Department, with the possibility of fractional secondments to the Centre for Mathematics and its Applications (CMA), the research only component of the SMS.
