Salary: $63,268 to $72,718 pa
The Senior Lecturer
in Bioinformatics in the Department of Mathematics and Computing will
lead the development and teaching of the undergraduate and postgraduate
bioinformatics programs, conduct advanced research, and form useful
collaborations. The successful candidate will teach in traditional,
distance and online modes based in the Department and liaising closely
with staff in the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences. Information

position is available on a full time basis.
Applicants must
hold a PhD relevant to bioinformatics based upon aedvanced expertise
in computing and/or statistics, or equivalent, and have established
a record of quality teaching of undergraduates with the capability to
support postgraduates. A strong research record, developed expertise
and accomplishment are essential in bioinformatics areas such as data
mining, databases, stochastic modelling, phylogenetics, analysis of
gene sequence data; or population genetics. A substandial knowledge
is required of biological systems such as molecular genetics, biochemistry,
microbiology or plant science.
