The College of Law
and Business is one of four Academic Units of the University of Western
Sydney comprising: Accounting; Construction, Property and Planning;
Economics and Finance; Law; Management; Marketing and International
Business; Quantitative Methods and Mathematical Science. The College
offers a range of programs incorporating both traditional and contemporary
degrees in an innovative and flexible manner.
The School of Quantitative
Methods and Mathematical Sciences provides high quality courses with
majors in mathematics, statistics and/or operations research, and also
teaches these subjects in Business, Science, Engineering and Information
Technology programs across the University. It has an active research
program in diverse areas of mathematics and statistics, including financial
mathematics, applications of statistics in business, property, management
and medicine, and signal processing and digital communications.
The successful
candidate will possess a doctorate in the mathematical or statistical
sciences, and demonstrated clear evidence of effective teaching experience
in mathematics and/or statistics, including first year students from
a range of backgrounds and abilities. An innovative research record
and the ability to administer academic programs are essential. Excellent
oral and written communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously
with other members of the School in achieving its goals in teaching
and research are also essential.

Remuneration: Associate
Professor (Level D) $79,714 - $87,713 pa
Senior Lecturer (Level C) $66,378 - $76,381 pa
Lecturer (Level B) $54,378 - $64,379 pa
Associate Lecturer Level A) $38,378 - $51,711 pa
Salary rates will
change effective 19 January 2003 to reflect a 4% increase.
