This position
is situated within the Operations Research group of the Department
of Mathematics and Statistics. The Department has recently appointed
its first Professor of Operations Research (Professor Peter Taylor)
and is committed to fostering the discipline. The successful applicant
will promote the growth of the Operations Research group through
teaching, reserach, service to the profession and service to the
community. You will make contributions to teaching, research and
administration in a large department with specialist and service
teaching at undergraduate level, as well as a broad postgraduate
program.
You will have
a PhD in an Operations Research discipline, a record of research
and significant publications. You will have demonstrated expertise
as a successful teacher and will have the capacity and commitment
to apply their expertise to teaching, researching and consulting
in Operations Research. Consulting experience is desirable, as
is evidence of the ability to attract research funding in Operations
Research and/or its applications. It would be an advantage if
the applicant's research interests complemented those of the current
members of the group (integer programming, dynamic programming,
stochastic modelling).
Salary $54,249
$64,420 (Lecturer, Level B), plus 17 percent employer superannuation
contributions. Salary packaging is available.
This is a
full time (continuing) position available from 1 January 2003.
