Vacation
employment at DSTO is a genuine opportunity to make practical use of
your studies and work with leaders in your field. DSTO's annual vacation
employment program takes third- and fourth-year tertiary students on
a 12-week, paid introduction to career possibilities in the fields of
science, engineering, and information technology.
Each
vacation student is allocated a research project, produces a written
report of findings, and presents this report orally.
Vacation
positions are available for the period from 3 December 2001 to 22 February
2002 at DSTO's Melbourne sites (Fishermans Bend and Maribyrnong) for
students in the following fields: Applied Mathematics Chemistry Computer
science or information technology Engineering - aeronautical, civil,
electronic, mechanical Naval Architecture Physics Psychology Psychophysiology
To
be eligible, you must be: Currently undertaking the third year of a
degree course and returning to full-time study in 2002 or the fourth
year of a degree course. An Australian citizen. You will also need to
demonstrate highly competitive academic results, team skills, and a
genuine interest in a research and development career.
Your
application should include your curriculum vitae, official academic
results (to date), and the DSTO Melbourne application coversheet (below)
indicating your preferred area of interest.
