This is a rare opportunity to lead the State's focus on science, technology and research across government, education sectors and industry.

The Office of Science Technology and Research (OSTAR), situated in the Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology (DFEEST), is seeking a Director with a passion for collaborative outcomes. You will be skilful in bringing diverse stakeholders together to drive strategic programs, foster research and developing policy that will enhance productivity and competitive advantage in our industries and the public sector.

The Director OSTAR is vital to supporting South Australia in positioning itself as a national leader in innovation, with world-class public sector research, seamlessly integrated into our priority industry sectors. You will be part of the senior management team leading the state’s activities and funding in vocational education and training (VET) under the Skills for All reforms. Your focus will be on leading and implementing programs that connect industry and tertiary sectors with a focus on opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

To succeed you will ideally possess current or past experience in leading programs, research or policy development with research and STEM focus with an impact at a state or national level. You will have particular strengths in determining innovative solutions to complex problems at both strategic and operational levels and achieving outcomes.
