CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics & Statistics are seeking a strong science leader to take the role of Research Program Leader for the Business Services & Analytics Program.

Specifically you will:

  • Provide strategic and scientific leadership for a team of approximately 30 mathematical and computational scientists.
  • Work with the Business Unit Executive and the Group Leaders within the Program to develop and maintain a strategic vision for the Program
  • Plan, develop and assign research capability in the mathematical sciences into a variety of Themes in Flagships and other Portfolios of CSIRO, with a focus on solving major national challenges through the application of mathematical and statistical methods.

Location: Negotiable: Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney
Salary: Competitive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience
Tenure: Indefinite/Ongoing

To be successful you will have :

  • International/national recognition as a leader in a research area (or its transfer) relevant to mathematical and statistical sciences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with respect to building relationships and create a high level of cooperation within and between multi disciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of relevant global science trends and R&D environment generally for the mathematical sciences
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and co-ordinate programs to achieve outcomes across organizational and international boundaries.
