Duties:
DSD is seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT professional to join its Information Security Group to become an IT Security Evaluation Certifier for the Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program (AISEP). The AISEP is part of an international program involved in the evaluation of IT security products for Government use. Under limited guidance the successful applicant will contribute to the technical evaluation of the security aspects of computer systems and devices; certify computer security system and device evaluations; and assess evaluation tools and techniques.

An IT Security Evaluation Certifier should have demonstrated IT analytical skills, knowledge of IT security evaluation criteria, be highly motivated, and have well developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Duty Statement:

• Conduct the certification of computer security system and device evaluations.
• Contribute to the technical evaluation of the security aspects of computer systems and devices.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of evaluation and certification tools, techniques and criteria.
• Contribute to the advancement and continual improvement of the Program's evaluation and certification practices and methodologies.

Selection Criteria:

• Knowledge of, or experience in IT security, and demonstrated technical competency and familiarity with contemporary computing and network systems.
• Demonstrated IT analytical skills, preferably in areas such as software or hardware engineering, network or systems analysis, cryptography, or formal specification and modeling.
• Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with, the practical application of IT security evaluation criteria.
• Demonstrated scheduling, task management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve targets and objectives.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a high level of motivation and have the ability to effectively liaise with evaluators and vendors and other Program stakeholders.
• Suitability to work in a high security Intelligence environment. (Note: This will be determined by assessment. There is no requirement for applicants to provide written statements in relation to this criterion.)

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
An Associate Diploma or higher qualification in Computing/Information Science and/or significant work experience in a related field OR proven analytic and liaison skills and an understanding of IT Security is highly desirable.
