The Australian
Communications Authority (ACA) is a statutory authority established
under the Australian Communications Authority Act 1997. Staff are employed
under the Public Service Act 1999.
The ACA is budget-funded
under annual appropriation acts passed by Parliament and is subject
to the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997.
The Spectrum Marketing
Team is responsible for preparing for and undertaking the price-based
allocation of spectrum for radiocommunications, and managing spectrum
licences throughout their life. The Team also provides advice to the
Government, the Authority and the ACAs clients on radiocommunications
licensing issues. This is a challenging role offering the opportunity
to work with a range of policy and legislative issues associated with
spectrum licensing. The work requires good conceptual and analytical
skills, an ability to work with spatial computer systems, and strong
communication skills.

We are looking for
a person who can conduct research and analysis into the configuration
of spectrum space for licences and perform moderately high-level liaison
with customers, industry, other areas of the ACA and other Government
bodies. Undertake primary responsibility for the registration of transmitters.
A background in
the telecommunications/radiocommunications industry is not essential.
