(Plantation Data Analyst/Modeller)

You will be required
to provide mensurational, biometrical, database and statisticalmodelling
expertise to the Forest Science Centre's hardwood plantations research
program.
The successful applicant
will be required to demonstrate:
- specialised knowledge
of experimental design, mensuration, biometric analysis, and growth
and yield prediction and modelling methodologies relevant to plantations
and farm-forests;
- an ability to
use advanced database, biometrical, modelling and geospatial software
packages (e.g. Access, Genstat, ArcView);
- an ability to
undertake field-based research projects;
- an ability to
prepare detailed reports and scientific papers integrating complex
information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate
with management and client groups; and
- an ability to
lead or participate in multi-disciplinary research teams.
Qualifications:
a degree in science, forest science, agricultural science or natural
resources science. Relevant post-graduate research qualifications are
desirable.
The salary range
for this position is $51,488 to $72,609. The location is initially negotiable
but it may be relocated to Creswick.
