The Australian Prudential
Regulation Authority regulates the Australian banking, insurance and
superannuation industries. We supervise over $1.5 trillion in assets
on behalf of nearly 20 million Australians. APRA's mission is to establish
and enforce prudential standards and practices aimed at protecting the
interests of depositors, policyholders and superannuation fund members.
In this role you
will work as part of a team, investigating insurers, superannuation
funds, credit unions and other supervised organisations that require
rehabilitation or enforcement action.This will involve analysing financial
situations, identifying the type and level of intervention required
and implementing the appropriate intervention. Close liaison with law
enforcement agencies, other financial regulators and internal clients
in exchanging information and providing expert technical advice will
be an important component of this role.
The successful candidate
is likely to be degree qualified, preferably in commerce, finance,
law or accounting and will have demonstrated excellent communication,
negotiation and organisational skills either in the finance sector or
law enforcement.
