The Resources and Infrastructure (R&I) Branch provides strategic
policy leadership
for the Department across the range of Government programs and projects
dealing
with the agriculture, energy, forests and mining industries; environment
and
conservation and the development and operation of road, rail, port,
water and civic
infrastructure. R&I is currently has a vacancy for a Senior Policy
Adviser to fit into it's
energetic team of multidisciplinary professionals.
The Senior Policy
Adviser is primarily responsible for guiding and directing significant
policy development and policy co-ordination processes on behalf of the
Cabinet
Office, including leadership of project teams.
Knowledge and experience
necessary for this role include:
- Extensive experience
and significant achievements in development, research and analysis
of policy in the areas of natural resource industries and the environment
and/or infrastructure development
- Demonstrated
ability to work effectively under limited supervision and to lead
multi-disciplinary teams
- Written and verbal
communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Relevant training
and a tertiary qualification in, science, economics, finance,
business, law or other relevant field would also be an advantage.
