Salary: ($54,425.00-$62,665.00)
Remuneration package valued at $54425 minimum salary with potential
to progress to $62665 based on performance plus employer's contribution
to
superannuation, leave loading and an Employee Train Pass.
The Rail Development
Division is responsible for developing short, medium and long term strategies
to meet the business objectives of State Rail in providing a reliable,
cost-effective and commercially-oriented transport service to meet the
present and future needs of its customers - the people of New South
Wales.
The Rail Development
Division is responsible for ensuring that the planning of future needs
of all areas of State Rail are co-ordinated properly and that the interests
of the organisation are represented in both the Government (Federal,
State and Local) as well as the private sector. The section is responsible
for providing high quality advice to all levels of management and in
this regard acts as an in-house consultancy service with specialised
expertise available in a number of key disciplines.
The resources of
the Rail Development Division are organised in a matrix management structure
that enables teams of experts in different fields or disciplines to
be formed for a particular project or task. The nature of the work in
such an environment is that individuals may be working in a number of
different teams simultaneously or alone.
The Business Analyst
assembles and analyses a range of CityRail patronage and business planning
statistics preparing consolidated and timely reports to assist management
decision making.
Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary Qualifications
in a Business, Finance, Statistics or quantitative field
- Highly developed
analytical and research skills
- Highly developed
skills in database and spreadsheet analysis
- Experience in
all statistical analysis, survey design and data collection
- Well developed
communication and liaison skills
- Strong analytical
and problem solving skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
- Capacity to work
within a large complex organisation with a demonstrated understanding
of issues related to frontline customer service and safety and rail
service delivery
- Understanding
