The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority regulates the Australian banking, insurance and superannuation industries. We supervise over $1.5 trillion in assets on behalf of nearly 20 million Australians. APRA's mission is to establish and enforce prudential standards and practices aimed at protecting the interests of depositors, policyholders and
superannuation fund members.

APRA is increasingly reliant on high quality risk analysis to perform its supervisory
functions.This position is responsible for building and maintaining a high quality
professional team to manage:
• APRA's internal risk modelling for regulated entities;
• APRA's transition to the Basel 2 international bank capital standard; and
• Specialist Auditing, Actuarial, and Research advice.

The successful candidate is likely to have extensive relevant experience in financial
risk measurement and management. Experience in regulatory policy formation or a
similar field would also be well regarded. Successful leadership experience in a
professional environment is necessary in this position.

This is a high visibility position within and external to APRA.The successful
candidate will join APRA's Executive Team in a critical role.
