Salary: $72,741 - $86,678 pa
The Bureau of Meteorology
Research Centre is seeking a scientist to participate in the future
development of the Limited Area Prediction System (LAPS), which is the
Bureau's operational regional forecast system. The scientist will be
required to play the leading role in the continuing development and
maintenance of state-of-the-art numerics in the prediction model.
The position requires
a scientist with a sound mathematical background and experience relevant
to high quality scientific research. Preference will be given to candidates
with a PhD degree and emonstrable experience in numerical methods and
their application to solving equations of motion of complex fluid flows
or numerical models of the atmosphere. A meteorological background would
be advantageous.
Eligibility: Standard
Australian Public Service conditions apply. To be eligible for engagement
to the Australian Public Service, you must hold Australian Citizenship.
However, if you hold permanent resident status and have applied, or
intend to apply, for citizenship, you may be engaged on probation pending
the granting of citizenship.
