Total remuneration
package valued up to $82,470 pa.
Contribute to the
design and implementation of specific projects using data mining techniques.
Undertake initial development and scoping of projects and, where appropriate,
managing, monitoring and reporting on progress of a broad range of research
projects ensuring delivery of agreed outcomes in terms of cost and completion
date. Undertake complex, detailed statistical analysis of various databases
using data mining techniques to build decision support models. Provide
timely, expert advice to the Manager, Data Mining Unit on the application
of data modeling and related computer based statistical analysis tools.
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated data mining expertise within leading data mining suites
(pref. SAS Enterprise Miner) with a sound understanding of the following
techniques: segmentation and clustering, neural networks, decision trees,
regression and link analysis. Extensive experience writing analysis
programs with statistical packages. Demonstrated achievements in statistically
oreinted research and experience in the preparation and coordination
of reports on complex research issues. Relevant industry experience
in advanced business intelligence, preferably gained in the finance,
banking, insurance or similar work environment. Research and evaluation,
analytical and strategic thinking and problem solving skills. Capacity
to apply non-ideal data in innovative ways to address complex issues.
Capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention
to detail and meet deadlines. Knowledge of Worker's Compensation Insurance
and Occupation Health and Safety Issues and capacity to diagnose business
solutions. Common selection criteria also apply.
Note: This position
will be relocating to Gosford in September 2002. Applicants with tertiary
qualifications, preferably at postgraduate level in applied statistics
or related quantitative field of study, should detail these in their
