Salary range $52,358 - $60,768 (plus superannuation)
Note: Employment may be offered on a fixed-term contract or a permanent
basis. Salary and conditions of service will be negotiated commensurate
with qualifications and experience. The successful applicants will initially
be based in Canberra and may be required, under ASIO's mobility provisions,
to relocate to a major capital city.
About the job: We
are seeking practical and innovative scientists or mathematicians
to assist ASIO's security intelligence analysis, particularly in support
of counter terrorism.
The appointees will be expected to research, develop and use numerical,
graphical, and statistical techniques to progress inquiries as part
of a multidisciplinary team.
The person we need:
You will have demonstrated scientific research skills and be an innovative,
people-orientated self-starter, and be able to work well in an interdisciplinary
role. You will have excellent communication and liaison skills. You
will have a higher degree in a discipline which uses complex quantitative
methods to solve research problems; or an Honours degree in such a discipline
and at least two years of relevant
research experience.
