APRA regulates the Australian banking, insurance and superannuation industries. We supervise $1.4 trillion in assets on behalf of nearly 20 million Australians. APRA's mission is to establish and enforce prudential standards and practices aimed at protecting the interests of depositors, policyholders and superannuation fund members.

Reporting to and providing high level support to the Head of Statistics, you will:

  • work with team managers to ensure that a consistent methodology is employed and high quality statistical output is produced as a result;
  • lead analysis projects to aid APRA in its supervision of institutions;
  • otherwise provide strong statistical expertise on an internal consultancy basis; and
  • manage the statistical content of APRA Insight, APRA's flagship publication.

There will be other challenges in this role which will allow you to use your flexibility, organization skills and client orientation to produce results.

Candidates will have a degree in statistics, finance, accounting, science, maths or economics and will be highly numerate. Experience in the financial sector will be highly regarded.
