Opportunities exist
for highly motivated people with analyst skills to work within the crime
analysis field.
Duties:
Undertake the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis and controlled
dissemination of information in respect of complex investigations/situations.
Make high quality recommendations in respect of the analysis of intelligence
and statistical data, identification and evaluation of emerging patterns
and trends in crime and organised criminal activity. Identify, assess
and report on specific targets or target areas. Identify, research and
analyse patterns and trends and make recommendations on target selection
and criminal activity to supervisors and investigators. Identify anomalies
in intelligence gathering and analysis and make appropriate recommendations.
Liaise with and develop a good working relationship with potential sources
of information from inside and outside the Force in order to obtain
assistance in the provision of timely and accurate intelligence. Provide
significant input to the development and maintenance of system for the
reception, recording, access, dissemination and culling of all information.
Prepare regular management reports, develop and maintain computer based
intelligence applications and holdings as well as manual information
systems to assist the intelligence process.
Special Requirements:
The successful applicant may be required to successfully complete the
Senior Criminal Intelligence Analysis Course within 12 months of commencement.
