Planning SA

Planning SA is responsible
for guiding and administering South Australia's planning and development
assessment system to achieve well-designed built development and sustainable
land-use.
The Planning Analysis
and Research Unit integrates, analyses and models geographic and associated
environmental, social, economic and demographic data using spatial information
systems.
The Demographer
is accountable to the Manager, Planning Analysis and Research for:
- providing expert
advice on trends in population and housing requirements to the Minister,
State Government agencies and other bodies
- monitoring demographic
trends, undertaking the preparation of projections for various geographic
areas
- assisting with
development of information systems, and maintaining statistical liaison
and communication.
Essential qualifications:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in geography, demography, economics,
science, statistics, computing or a related discipline.
Special Conditions:
Some out of hours work may be required. Some intra/interstate travel
involving overnight absences may be required. This position may be filled
at either the ASO-5/ASO-6 remuneration level depending on the level
of responsibility and accountability assigned in accordance with the
qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
Salary range: $47497/$58398
