Duties:
Under limited direction as a member of a team assist with one or more of the following activities:

  1. Assist in preparation of quality dietary exposure assessment reports, in a timely manner;
  2. Assist in routine maintenance of the dietary modelling computer program (DIAMOND), updating of DIAMOND databases, testing the program, running dietary models and training others as required;
  3. Collect and collate data required for risk assessments for food chemicals, including levels in foods of food additives, contaminants, pesticide residues, and miscellaneous food chemicals;
  4. Assist in developing and maintaining databases containing food chemical concentrations (food additives and contaminants), and food consumption information; and
  5. Monitor literature and websites for relevant data to be used in the work of the dietary exposure assessment team.

Qualifications and Experience:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications (a degree or diploma in science from an Australian or New Zealand tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, preferably with some units in nutrition, statistics, or fields of study related to food or food chemicals).
