Duties:
We are looking for reliable, dynamic people with a high level of initiative to work in a communications monitoring section. They need to have a basic understanding of communications systems using a variety of computer operating systems and be able to conduct basic troubleshooting if systems are not functioning. The successful applicants are also required to conduct preliminary analysis on complex information. The positions are either shift or day work.

Duty Statement:
Under direction, work in a small team undertaking communications-related operations, either shiftwork or day position.

Selection Criteria:

• Ability to work in a small team involved in the operations of communications-related systems, either shift or day work.
• Demonstrated ability to assimilate, organise and analyse complex information.
• A basic understanding of telecommunications principles and a variety of computer operating systems.
• Demonstrated personal attributes of reliability, initiative, sound judgement and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Suitability to work in a high security Intelligence environment. (Note: This will be determined by assessment. There is no requirement for applicants to provide written statements in relation to this criterion.)

Note:
There are three assessment barriers within the Band. The commencing salary for this vacancy is between $38,317-$41,604 and commensurate with the applicant's skills, experience and subject matter expertise. A formal assessment process determines progression beyond this level. Applicants must quote VF/0120. These are security assessed positions - Top Secret (Positive Vetting).
