Key Duties:
The position
requires a person with advanced analytical and research skills. Investment
knowledge and experience are essential.
The occupant of
this position will be required to undertake any or all of the following
duties, as determined, in consultation with the Senior Policy Advisor
(Investment).
- Use advanced
problem solving skills to review and analyse unit pricing returns
to identify pricing inconsistencies or issues, document and report
to the Senior Policy Advisor (Investment);
- Liaise with organisations
external to GSO including survey houses;
- Build and maintain
contacts within QIC (or other Fund managers as required) within the
performance and reporting areas;
- Continuously
improve quantitative performance monitoring, data storage systems
and reporting capabilities/timetable;
- Produce ad hoc
performance reports;
- Analyse data
from the fund's investment manager and competitors and report on accordingly;
- Plan work schedules
through the assessment of workflow priorities against objectives and
ensure delivery of objectives through the provision of training and
review of the work of other team members;
- Research issues
to ensure provision of accurate advice to QSuper members, employers
and customer service staff;
- Manage and undertake
assigned projects to continuously improve the quality of services
delivered by the branch;
- Perform as a
role model by displaying enthusiasm, drive and commitment and by consistently
acting in accordance with agreed team protocols and performance standards.
Selection Criteria:
- Well developed
analytical, research and evaluation skills to examine complex situations,
develop viable solutions and present them in detailed reports.
- Demonstrated
knowledge of statistical concepts and mathematical techniques
used for the analysis of data, especially as they relate to the interpretation
of information concerning investment performance.
- Demonstrated
high level of skill in written and verbal communication and the ability
to effectively liaise with both internal and external clients.
- Ability to handle
a number of complex tasks concurrently and to adapt quickly to changing
requirements.
- Demonstrated
ability to manage and develop staff from diverse backgrounds and to
ensure a workplace that is safe and free from discrimination and harassment.
