The
Australian Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre is seeking a scientist
to play the leading role in the continuing development and maintenance
of state-of-the-art numerics in the limited area prediction systems
(LAPS), the Bureau's operational regional forecast system.
The
position requires a scientist with a sound mathematical background and
training or experience relevant to high-quality scientific research.
Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD degree and demonstrable
experience in numerical methods and their application to solving equations
of motion of fluid flows or numerical models of the atmosphere. A meteorological
background would also be advantageous.
This
position is advertised under the dual classification of PO2 and SPOC.
The final decision as to classification will be dependent on the skills,
qualifications and appropriate professional expertise and experience
of the successful applicant.
