You will either lead or be part of a small team focussed on understanding and improving the effectiveness of interaction between operators of sonar or combat systems, that is the 'human machine interface', and computer systems. In this role you will work closely with both the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and industry to ensure that research outcomes are transferred to operational service.

The position requires:

• Demonstrated experience and achievement in Human System Integration (HSI);
• Proven ability to liaise with the ADF and industry in the field of HSI;
• Written and oral skills of a high order;
• A PhD or degree in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering, or equivalent relevant qualifications and research experience.
