Lecturership / Senior Lecturership
The University of Auckland
Department of MathematicsClosing date: 14th February 2016
The Department of Mathematics invites applications for two permanent full-time positions at Lecturer / Senior Lecturer level.
We expect that at least one of these will be filled at Lecturer level.
The successful applicants will be expected to establish their own research portfolio that attracts external funding and graduate students, and collaborate with other researchers within and outside the University.
We expect that the research expertise of the successful applicant will complement existing research strengths in Pure Mathematics. These include: algebraic geometry; approximation theory; differential geometry; graph theory and combinatorics; functional, geometric and harmonic analysis; group theory; number theory; representation theory; social choice theory; and topology and its applications.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates who can help strengthen links with our Applied Mathematics Unit.
The successful applicants will be expected to undertake high-quality teaching broadly at undergraduate level, and also in specialist graduate level courses, and to perform service roles for the Department of Mathematics.
