An excellent opportunity is available for a researcher to work in a stimulating and challenging research environment within the School of Mathematics and Physics. The discipline of Mathematics is located within the School of Mathematics and Physics in the Faculty of Science at the University of Queensland. It is the leading provider of mathematics education in Queensland, and is internationally recognised for its research excellence.
In the research domain, the person will undertake research projects in the fields of design theory and graph theory under the direction of Professor Darryn Bryant and Dr Barbara Maenhaut. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in academic life including; the production of scholarly papers for publication and presenting research seminars. The successful candidate should have expert knowledge in graph theory, design theory or related areas of discrete mathematics.
Applicants should possess a PhD and should have an excellent research record relative to opportunity. It is essential applicants can demonstrate creativity, productivity and a high level of initiative. Applicants must possess a high level of written and oral communication skills.
This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for one year at Academic Research Level A. As of 2016, the remuneration package will be in the range of AUD$79,170 – $84,985 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range AUD$92,628 – $99,432).
