The School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Canterbury is offering a one year postdoctoral fellowship to a motivated individual with a research background in social network analysis on an externally funded research project.

The successful applicant will undertake research using cutting-edge network analytics to improve established methods for risk prediction in New Zealand society. The ideal applicant for this job will be interdisciplinary and have a strong background in both a mathematical science and a social science, with a demonstrated interest in network science focussing on social networks. They will have experience of dealing with large network datasets. They will have an understanding of the issues surrounding working with highly sensitive data, and ideally an interest in social change, inequality and well-being in the New Zealand context.

Applicants require a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field. The School of Mathematics and Statistics is a strong and forward-looking department, dedicated to excellence in teaching and research. Information on the School is available at
