This position is funded by an ARC Discovery Project Grant "Real chromatic roots of graphs and matroids" held by Professor Gordon Royle. The successful applicant will conduct research in various problems on bounding the location of the roots of chromatic (characteristic) polynomials of graphs and matroids outlined in the project application. As the research position was not fully funded for the entire duration of the project, preference will be given to those applicants with prior research experience in this topic.
Applicants must have a PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field. We are seeking a person who is committed to working collaboratively and will contribute widely to the vibrant research environment currently enjoyed by the Centre. Some assistance with relocation expenses (if applicable) may be negotiated.
