Closing date: 31st July 20133 Year Full Time Fixed Term Contract (This is a full time, fixed term appointment for a period of three (3) years in the first instance, but will be converted to a continuing position subject to evidence of establishing a successful research program and demonstration of innovative and effective contributions to learning and teaching.)

The Centre for Research in Mathematics is seeking to appoint a Professor or Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics to join the University of Western Sydney's School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics. The Professor or Associate Professor will be expected to make major contributions in the areas of research, academic leadership, scholarship and teaching and learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to play a leadership role in the development of the Research Centre.
The Professor or Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics will contribute to teaching, research and administration in the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics. The appointee will be a creative researcher willing to work with collaborators within the Centre, the University, and externally. They will also be committed to the education of mathematics students at UWS and to strengthening the developing curriculum in mathematics.
The position may be filled in any field of Applied Mathematics but candidates that complement existing strengths are especially encouraged to apply.
Remuneration Package:
- Academic Level E $189,215 p.a. (comprising Salary of $160,629 p.a., plus 17% Superannuation, and Leave Loading).
- Academic Level D $147,976 to $162,527 p.a. (comprising Salary of $125,382 to $137,819 p.a., plus 17% Superannuation, and Leave Loading).
