Closing date: 31st January 2013We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for a full-time two year fixed-term position as Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics. You will have a PhD in Mathematics (or equivalent), and will have demonstrated the ability to sustain a successful quality research programme. The successful applicant is expected to enhance the research environment, to produce and publish high quality research in mathematics and to collaborate in research with other members of the department.
The funding for this position is not tied to a particular topic or project. Applications are invited from any mathematician whose research interests align with those of members of the department. The position is expected to have a small teaching component (approximately half a course a year), which will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Current salary range for Research Fellows is NZ$66,677 to $81,406 per year. The Mathematics Department at the University of Waikato is ranked number one in the New Zealand PBRF research evaluation. Further information about the department is available at http://www.math.waikato.ac.nz
