Closing date: 10th November 2012The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics (SMAS) is one of the most vibrant and active mathematical sciences communities in Australia, with an exceptional research record through the Centre for Statistics and Survey Methodology (CSSM).
The CSSM provides a statistical consultancy service to the broader University, has extensive research and consulting contracts with external agencies, and a number of ARC-funded research projects. There are currently 16 staff members who work in statistics, including a Highly-Cited Researcher and two externally-funded Professors .
The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics (SMAS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable statistician to undertake academic duties consistent with an ongoing Lecturer (Level B) appointment, which is equivalent to a tenurable Associate Professor position in the USA.
To succeed, you will be a talented and well-qualified statistician with a PhD in statistics or a cognate area. You will have an active research program in an area of statistics compatible with current research interests in the School, excellent teaching credentials and a proven ability to work well in a team environment.
