Closing date: 28th November 2012The School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Newcastle, Australia, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position commencing in 2013. We seek candidates with a strong methodological foundation in Operations Research, e.g. integer programming, stochastic programming, and nonlinear programming, as well as a demonstrated interest in applications, e.g. transportation and logistics, energy and the environment, and healthcare. Applicants should also have a strong commitment to teaching, to mentoring graduate students, and to developing and maintaining an active program of sponsored research. Applicants must hold a Ph.D., or expect to complete their degree by Fall 2013, in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
The successful applicant will be part of a vigorous Operations Research group that conducts methodological as well as applied research and that has many national and international collaborations.
